Amrita

Amrita, often referred to as the nectar of immortality, is a divine substance in Hindu mythology that grants eternal life to those who consume it. It appears prominently in both the Mahabharata and Ramayana. In the Mahabharata, Amrita is closely associated with the Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Ocean), where gods and demons jointly churn the ocean to extract this celestial nectar. Vishnu, in his Mohini avatar, ensures that the gods alone receive Amrita, securing their immortality and divine strength. In the Ramayana, Amrita is less central but still recognized as a symbol of divine essence and immortality, often associated with the gods’ supremacy over demons.
